Learn French as a kid would!

One of the problem with learning the French language as an adult is that we tend to think like adults do and make the process seem very hard and boring. To learn French it is also a good idea to learn it as a kid would. The main reason why children learn things so fast and well is that their teachers make learning a lot of fun and there is a lot of repetition of words and phrases.

When you were a child and were learning to speak English, one of the first things you were taught was to sound out words. This is what you will need to do to learn French, sound out the different words. Next in learning English you would have learnt specific phrases, so with the French language you will follow that method. So if you meet upon a word that you have trouble saying, you would sound it out since you would have had an understanding of how the French alphabet works.

When you have grasped the techniques used to pronounce French words you will then have to learn how to construct sentences with them. Children learn words and then learn how to use them in sentences, that way they will understand how to use them in the future. Knowing the French grammar is extremely important if you want to learn French. So even if you understand what is said in French you are likely to have problems speaking and having conversations with other people in French. To make it easier to learn, you can do posters with the different words you have learnt and make them look colorful and interesting. If fact you can also use the French books, audio, and DVD done for kids and learn the French grammar from them. They are usually laid out in an easy to learn manner.

Challenge yourself to learn a new word or words in the French vocabulary every day and to use it in a sentence. Practice this everyday and you will certainly be on your way to learning the French language. To help you with the vocabulary you can find things in your immediate surroundings and try to name them as you see them. Every time you come up on them try to remember the French word that is associated with them.

It may seem unusual learning French the way kids do, but you will be surprised just how effective it can be.
